For Release: GOD Int’l Announces Summer Internship to East Africa

We are happy to announce the 2023 GOD Summer Internship to East Africa. This long-awaited trip will incorporate interns whose trip was cut short by the COVID pandemic and then again due to the Ebola outbreak, and be open to new interns.

On January 11, 2023, the Center for Disease Control declared the ebola outbreak officially over in Uganda after 42 days without a case.

This year's trip will include our longstanding "Boot Camp" preparatory week, a SLAM Nashville week, a domestic mission experience in Morristown, TN, and an international mission experience in Uganda, East Africa.

GOD International has been ministering in East Tennessee since the early 2000s. This video is recap of last summer’s Morristown Mission Trip.

The GOD Summer Internship trip will take place from June 15-July 21. The trip will be led by GOD International CEO/President Gregg Garner, who initiated GOD's Summer Internship program in 2002, along with a team of mission, public health, education, and third-world development experts.

The Summer Internship program is open to young people aged 17-27 in pursuit of Jesus who want to be a part of his work in the world. The GOD Summer Internship incorporates 200 hours of Bible study, prayer, and worship alongside service opportunities benefiting the poor, including children and youth, the sick and elderly/widowed, and refugees. Interns will minister in churches, schools, sports fields, construction, education, health care, and agriculture.

GOD Summer Interns 2021 undergo a preventative health care training seminar from Institute for GOD alum, Jordan Miller. Jordan Miller (RN, FNP-BC) will be one of the accompanying facilitators on this summer’s internship as well.

Students participating in the GOD Summer Internship can get college credit through The Institute for GOD. Summer Internship is one of 3 or 4 international mission experiences featured in The Institute's innovative curriculum. Students continuing their studies at The Institute can complete the "Mission Driven Service" course that pairs with the Summer Internship.

This year’s Summer Internship is open to only 15 participants. Applicants need to submit a brief explanation of why they want to go on the trip and a reference. Applications will open on February 1 on the GODSI website.
