The Institute for GOD welcomes Dr. Brennan Breed to give public lecture on “Dynamic Torah”
The Institute for GOD is proud to welcome Dr. Brennan Breed for a guest lecture open to the public on October 11, 2022.
Dr. Brennan W. Breed is an Assistant Professor of the Old Testament at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Emory University. Brennan is the author of "Nomadic Text: A Theory of Biblical Reception History" (Indiana University Press, 2014) and co-author of the Old Testament Library commentary on Daniel with Carol Newsom (Westminster John Knox, 2014).
Dr. Breed was a favorite professor of our college chaplain, Christopher Jones, a graduate of Columbia. According to Chris, when he first moved to Nashville and started gaining an understanding of our community and values, Dr. Breed was the first person with whom he wanted to share. Chris invited Dr. Breed to speak to our college students at their weekly chapel. Chris also requested Dr. Breed to give a public lecture and put him in contact with President Gregg Garner to discuss a topic to serve our community best. His October 11 lecture will be about Community and Covenant and titled: “Dynamic Torah: The Blessing of Moses’ Covenant.”
We would love for you to join us to hear from a man who has devoted his life to understanding the Old Testament Scriptures. This public lecture will take place on The Institute for GOD campus:
