COVID-19 Policy
The Institute for G.O.D. has reconvened on-campus classes in coordination with the following protocol informed by local government authorities in Nashville, TN.
Please note:
If Tennessee is placed under Stay at Home orders, the Institute will NOT send students home. However, if students travel or visit home during an Institute semester when a Stay at Home order is in effect, said student will be required to stay home for the duration of the semester and finish their coursework online.
There is currently no mask mandate in Nashville or Davidson County where the Institute is located. The following policy may be updated as this requirement changes.
Prevention
Please note, every phase requires physical distancing in accordance with CDC recommendations. All individuals on campus are required to wear face masks whenever local authorities require. Institute classrooms and common spaces are disinfected daily and professionally sanitized once per week.
Quarantine Policy
Any individual contracting COVID-19 will be in isolation for the duration of the sickness and 5 days from the onset of symptoms. CDC recommends that people with COVID-19 (cases) isolate for 5 days after onset and may be released after they are without fever for 24 hours (without fever-reducing medication) and show improvement in symptoms. Special accommodations, as needed, will be provided for COVID-positive students as well as protocols enforced related to facility use. The CDC recommends anyone who shares a home with someone with COVID-19 to take precautions such as: watching for symptoms, wearing a mask and getting tested. Those who have had close proximity (defined by the CDC as less than 6 feet for 15 minutes or longer) to the positive case are advised to quarantine for 10 days, as recommended by the CDC. The last day of quarantine is the 10th day since close contact, as indicated on the CDC’s recommendations on went to quarantine.
Testing Policy
If you have been tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting results, you must self-isolate until you receive your results. If a housemate is being tested, you need to practice extra caution as advised by the CDC’s recommendations.
Isolation Policy
Any individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 will be in isolation for 5 days (meaning, 5 days from evidence of their first symptom or beginning the day they tested positive, if asymptomatic). You are considered no longer contagious after 5 days. Anyone who shares a housing unit with someone who contracts COVID and has been in close proximity (defined according to the CDC) should take precautions for 10 days from their last exposure to the person with COVID, as indicated on the CDC’s recommendations on went to quarantine.
